Back of the Building
Abandoned Fire Station in Mt Gravatt

I'm not sure when this fire station was built but I noticed that it appeared empty in late 2007. It had been a fixture in the area for as long as I've lived here. The most noteworthy thing I remember about the station was that the turnout for the fire trucks was regulated by a set of stop lights just a few metres before another set of traffic lights at the intersection of Nursery Road and Logan Road; it used to confuse the hell out of a lot of drivers as they didn't know where to stop.

The front of the building was dominated by these two large doors serving the truck bays.

This looks like it might have been the Operations Room.

Like most good Aussie establishments, this one had a BBQ area.
